Food Expo
2006 showcased what local and international companies
have to offer for the increasingly vibrant food and
beverage industry in Oman. It was formally inaugurated
by His Excellency H.E. Ahmed Sulaiman Saleh Al Maimani,
Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs
and Regions Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and
Industry, highlighting the importance of the event in
the face of increasing tourism activity in the
sultanate.
Food Expo 2006 attracted the participation of exhibitors
from many countries including Germany, Italy, Tunisia,
Sri Lanka, Brunei, the UAE and the UK. The three-day
event was visited by over 6,200 trade professionals,
thus effectively bridging the gap between food
manufacturers and distributors and between equipment
suppliers and users.
