In the vast and diverse landscape of the Middle East, there’s a vehicular phenomenon that has captured both hearts and roads: LV trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles. This article will delve into why these robust machines have gained significant popularity in the Middle East, transforming from mere modes of transport into symbols of status and utility.

Versatility in Utility

One of the fundamental factors driving the popularity of LV trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles in the Middle East is their versatility and utility. These vehicles are tailor-made for the demanding environments and multifaceted tasks that characterize the region’s diverse industries.

In construction, agriculture, and trade, LV trucks are indispensable. Their cargo capacity, towing capabilities, and off-road prowess make them reliable workhorses. For businesses, they are not just vehicles but strategic assets, ensuring goods are transported efficiently and reliably. This utility extends beyond the workplace and into the daily lives of people across the Middle East, whether it’s carrying loads of goods or transporting families to remote destinations.

Navigating Rugged Terrain and Off-Roading Culture

The Middle East is known for its rugged and challenging terrains, from the sandy dunes of deserts to the rocky mountain trails. LV trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles are uniquely equipped to handle these conditions. Their four-wheel-drive systems, high ground clearance, and sturdy suspensions make them the go-to choice for navigating the region’s toughest terrains.

Moreover, the Middle East has embraced an off-roading culture like no other. Enthusiasts and thrill-seekers flock to the desert dunes, wadis, and mountain trails, seeking adventure and camaraderie. These vehicles, designed for the wild, foster a sense of community among off-roaders who revel in pushing their machines to the limits.

Status and Prestige

LV trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles in the Middle East are not just tools; they are symbols of status and prestige. Owning one of these robust machines is a testament to success and affluence. They are often associated with power, luxury, and an adventurous lifestyle. It’s not unusual to spot high-end, customized LV trucks cruising the streets, complete with opulent interiors and advanced features.

The perception of these vehicles as symbols of status has led to a thriving market for customized and modified versions. Owners invest in enhancements such as larger wheels, lift kits, bespoke interiors, tonneau covers and even personalized paint jobs. These modifications serve not only to showcase individuality but also to elevate the vehicle’s prestige.

Robust Market and Competition

The Middle East has become a lucrative market for LV trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles, attracting the attention of major automakers worldwide. Automakers have recognized the demand and tailored their offerings to cater specifically to Middle Eastern tastes and requirements. This has led to a diverse range of models and trim levels, offering buyers an extensive array of choices.

Whether it’s a rugged workhorse for industrial use or a luxury four-wheel drive vehicle designed for urban lifestyles, there is a vehicle to suit every need and desire. This competitive market ensures that Middle Eastern consumers have access to the latest technologies, safety features, and luxurious amenities in their LV trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles.

Conclusion

In the Middle East, LV trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles have transcended their functional roots to become symbols of status, utility, and adventure. Their versatility, ability to conquer challenging terrains, and the fusion of tradition with modernity have endeared them to the people of the region.

These vehicles have seamlessly integrated into the fabric of Middle Eastern life, representing both the tireless pursuit of success and the desire for exhilarating experiences. As they continue to dominate the roads and terrains of the Middle East, they remain a testament to the enduring appeal of these robust machines in a region that values both tradition and progress.

With their iconic presence and multifaceted utility, LV trucks and four-wheel drive vehicles are poised to remain symbols of status and symbols of Middle Eastern life for generations to come, exemplifying the region’s boundless spirit and relentless determination. As a result, their popularity shows no signs of waning, and they continue to thrive as indispensable companions for both work and adventure in the Middle East’s challenging and dynamic landscapes.

The post How Egypt Was Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Discovery of King Tut’s Tomb appeared first on M_Expo.

]]>

Just over a century has passed since one of the most important archaeological discoveries in history was made.

On November 4, 1922, British archaeologist Howard Carter discovered King Tutankhamun’s almost undiscovered tomb. King Tutankhamun governed Egypt from the age of nine until his death at the age of nineteen.

One of the finest preserved tombs from ancient Egypt and one of the most significant archaeological finds ever made was King Tut’s. King Tut’s tomb was mainly discovered undamaged, unlike other pharaonic tombs that had been looted for riches because it had been buried beneath a mound of soil. The world has been enthralled by the hundreds of artefacts that researchers spent years removing from the tomb, including a solid gold sarcophagus and a renowned headpiece.

Egypt has spent the month of November commemorating the 100th anniversary of the tomb’s discovery with a number of unique exhibits, lectures, and events held all over the nation, including a custom opera presented in front of the Hatshepsut Temple in Luxor, not far from where King Tut was interred. 18 artefacts that formerly belonged to Tutankhamun are presently on display in a special exhibit at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo’s Tahir Square, some of which are being seen for the first time. Although taking photos inside the exhibit is prohibited, administrators have developed a virtual tour that allows visitors from all over the world to see its treasures.

The centennial commemoration is considered as a chance to boost Egypt’s tourism, which has been hurt by the epidemic. However, other countries besides Egypt are also commemorating the discovery’s anniversary.

A commemorative coin fit for a king has been made available in Australia by the Perth Mint. One of the most well-known artefacts from ancient Egypt, the burial mask of King Tut, is shown on the one-ounce pure gold coin. Additionally, the National Geographic Society is commemorating the discovery in Washington, D.C., with an immersive event. Cities all throughout the United States and Canada, including Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, and Toronto, are planning similar King Tut events.

But if you missed the party, don’t worry. By visiting the new Grand Egyptian Museum, which will hold many of the artefacts connected to the discovery, you may still take part in the celebrations. Originally slated to open in time for the 100th anniversary, the museum, which is located on the edge of the Giza pyramid complex just outside of Cairo, is now anticipated to do so in 2023. When it is complete, it will include the world’s largest collection of King Tut-related artefacts.

King Tut’s famous mask, which is now on show at the Egyptian Museum and will be the penultimate object brought to the museum before it opens, is one of the artefacts that will be on display. Before being transferred to the museum, around 150 artefacts from Tut’s tomb are now travelling the globe. There are already thousands of King Tut artefacts in storage, the most of them are made of gold.

Additionally, a renovated Carter House in Luxor is open to tourists visiting Egypt. Carter resided in the more than 100-year-old building when Tutankhamun’s tomb was found. During the most of 2022, officials worked to restore water damage to the residence and recreate a historically accurate depiction of the inside.

The celebration of the 100th anniversary also marked a key milestone for the much-awaited Grand Egyptian Museum. Its opening, although delayed, is eagerly anticipated in 2023. This museum is situated near the Giza pyramid complex, just outside of Cairo, and promises to be an epicenter for King Tut-related artefacts, boasting the largest collection globally. Besides the famous golden mask, about 150 artefacts from King Tut’s tomb are also expected to be showcased there, following a global tour. This remarkable milestone doesn’t just bring the marvels of ancient Egypt closer to modern society, but also shines a spotlight on the relentless efforts of archaeologists, historians, and researchers dedicated to preserving this rich heritage. In addition to the displays and events, the century mark of the discovery also signifies a significant opportunity to revitalize Egypt’s tourism industry. This industry has faced significant setbacks due to the global pandemic, and the milestone celebrations offer a unique platform to attract visitors worldwide.

The post How tall were ancient Egyptians? appeared first on M_Expo.

]]>

When posed with the question of the height of ancient Egyptians at the Petrie Museum, the assumption was made based on the size of surviving sandals, and other artifacts like headrests, that they were likely similar in stature to modern humans. Despite this being a somewhat informal approach, the assumptions didn’t significantly deviate from the archaeological research.

A shift from a hunter-gatherer/pastoral lifestyle to a hierarchical agricultural society, with the pharaoh as a divine leader, influenced the stature of ancient Egyptians. Studies indicate that their height increased from the Predynastic period (5000 BCE) to the beginning of the Dynastic period (3100 BCE). This can be attributed to the stability in food supply resulting from intensified agricultural practices and the establishment of social hierarchies. Later, there was a decrease in stature during the Dynastic period (up to 1800 BCE), probably due to increased social complexity leading to disparities in access to food and healthcare, hence broadening the wealth gap.

However, an analysis of 150 skeletons from this time revealed that the average height was 157.5cm (5ft 2in) for women and 167.9cm (5ft 6in) for men, akin to modern times. What stands out is the gender height difference, which was smaller in ancient Egypt at 10.4cm, compared to the current average of 12-13cm. This finding was unexpected to researchers, considering the presumed preferential access to food and healthcare for men in that era. The data likely suggests that women in ancient Egypt enjoyed a relatively higher status compared to other ancient societies.

As it is today, many factors determined the height of an ancient Egyptian. Ancient Egypt was a diverse and cosmopolitan society, with varying body types, hair, and skin color, just like modern England. The wealth and social status of an individual were influential in determining their physique. However, unlike today’s England where obesity is often linked to poverty, the affluent in ancient Egypt were more likely to be overweight. Many aspects, including disease, social status, food access, and cultural aesthetics, have historically influenced human physique, and will likely continue to influence it as we explore our perception of the ideal body type.

Could an ancient Egyptian pharaoh have been a giant?

The ancient Pharaoh Sa-Nakht may represent the oldest documented case of acromegaly.

Sa-Nakht, who was akin to a towering mythological figure, governed ancient Egypt around 2700 B.C. A recent study has suggested that this pharaoh could have been one of the earliest recorded individuals suffering from gigantism or acromegaly.

Michael E. Habicht from the Institute of Evolutionary Medicine at the University of Zurich, along with his team, reevaluated measurements and images of bones believed to be Sa-Nakht’s in a study published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology. They discovered signs of “excessive growth,” typically associated with acromegaly. This disorder typically emerges when the body produces an excessive amount of growth hormone, often due to a pituitary tumor. While Sa-Nakht would only be slightly taller than the average man today—just below six-foot-two—he would have greatly surpassed his peers in height during his time. According to Habicht’s interview with Live Science, most ancient Egyptian men only reached a height of about five-foot-six.

Although pharaohs were generally taller than the general population, most likely due to improved access to healthcare and nutritious food, Sa-Nakht stood a remarkable five inches taller than the second tallest pharaoh on record, Ramesses II. Despite this, no other ancient Egyptian royalty are known or believed to have been giants. Researchers admit they cannot definitively confirm that the remains unearthed from an elite tomb in 1901 are genuinely Sa-Nakht’s, and overall, very little is known about this particular pharaoh.

Interestingly, extreme height didn’t appear to confer any distinct social benefits or drawbacks in ancient Egypt. Conversely, individuals with dwarfism were highly regarded, often serving as assistants to pharaohs or viewed as divine entities.

Considering the historical sizes of figures from ancient Egypt can be astonishing, it’s sometimes challenging to visualize these numbers without context. The height comparison tool can be a helpful resource in this regard. It provides a visual comparison between different heights, making it easier to comprehend the stature of an individual like Sa-Nakht in relation to contemporary standards or other historical figures.

Additionally, on this website, you’ll also find the Blue Whale Size Comparison tool. This fascinating feature allows you to compare the dimensions of the largest known animal, the blue whale, with various objects, humans, and other animals. It’s an excellent way to visualize the sheer magnitude of this majestic sea creature.

Second reason is the educational talks – there is a number of them taking place every day… at 4pm I will be doing mine talking about the changes in the industry within the 10 years that I have been actively present.

Thirdly, this is the place to discover! You have to explore different areas of the exhibition for the full experience and see the section with gouache artists, books, gemmology exploration etc.. they are dotted around the fair.”

Elena Veselaya:

“What can you say about the GemGeneve exhibition in general? From the very beginning (five years ago), everyone wondered where the new undertaking would lead, bringing together the best stones, antique galleries and young designers.

Today it is obvious: the exhibition defines itself as BtoB – there are more and more stone sellers, all the rarest and best are brought to Geneva, and you can meet the world’s most famous jewelers who come for stones. For some special samples there is a real struggle.

At the same time, the design side noticeably sags – new people do not come, those who exhibited a couple of times in the past left dissatisfied – there are practically no people at the exhibition who would be interested in young design (not to see, but to buy). So obviously something needs to be done about it. For example, change the curator.

Antiquarians feel great – their showcases contain treasures from previous eras, and you can buy a biography quite inexpensively.”

In her blog, Elena presented a video of the ring from the Ukrainian project Strong & Precious Drutis Jewelery.

The work of Ukrainian jewelers was also noted by Donatella Zappieri:

“First stop of the day is Strong & Precious, the corner devoted to Ukrainian jewelry designers!

This diamond pendant by Drutis Jewelery contains a caleidoscope and you can actually admire stones composition inside. Too bad I cannot show you what I could admire when rotating the pave rondelles.”

Inesa Bachurina:

“I am happy that the world notices and appreciates the work of Ukrainian masters. Our Delagem.com platform also features Ukrainian brands. The same Rokah that was exhibited at GemGeneve in November 2022.”

All experts unanimously noted the work of the Chinese designer Wallis Hong.

Katerina Perez:

“The most extravagant jewel of this edition of GemGeneve exhibition is surely displayed at Wallis Hong salon… He used titanium to create this crocodile brooch with textured skin that is both voluminous and light. The creature is holding a purple sapphire in it’s jaw and is embellished with more sapphires and diamonds…”

Donatella Zappieri:

“For the second time Wallis Hong is showing his wonderful collections GemGeneve in the Emerging talents area selected by Nadege Totah. Stunning pieces in titanium and aluminum with gems and diamonds.

The delicacy of his artwork is really amazing, balanced by the color shades which are always in line with the stone color selection.”

And of course, the experts highly appreciated the gems presented at the exhibition.

Katerina Perez:

“I am dreaming of turning these layouts of aquamarines and morganites that I spotted at HC Arnoldi into an unconventional jewellery set… I like it how the pastel colours add a bit of subtlety to the stones while the cut gives them an edge – this mix made this layout stood out for me at GemGeneve.”

Elena Veselova:

“There are many stones on GemGeneve – the most selective ones. Vendors are eager to brag about rarities – my old Nomad’s friends show off a 200-carat tsavorite, a huge aquamarine and a stunning tangerine garnet.”

Inesa Bachurina:

“We see an actively growing demand for jewelry with colored stones. And the growth in the number of participants in the show only confirms this. After pearl jewelry and drop earrings, colored gemstone jewelry is the third most popular category on our platform.”

In addition to the beautiful Ukrainian project Strong & Precious, the category of young talents did not show anything previously unknown. The selection of participants was, as always, perfectly curated.

Katerina Perez:

“It was a pleasure to explore Asian culture through Austy Lee ring and earrings inspired by the fan. Can you guess what the centre stone here is?

Donatella Zappieri:

“In the very contemporary mood of “quiet luxury”, Faerber I discovered this truly elegant collection of diamond rings.

Each stone is one of a kind, special for its cut, color, dimension and the setting is designed to enhance such peculiarity.

As an example, the oval ring carries a 3,48 color IF stone and most of the rings plating are in soft gold tones , sometimes brushed and the gold proportion is never overwhelming the stone beauty.”

Katerina Perez:

“At Lia Lam, courageous creativity meets fine jewellery artistry. In a dance of design and concept, Lia’s architectural pieces express meaning in a minimal and poetic form.

Handcrafted to order in London, Lia’s pieces are made with recycled gold and set with traceable gemstones and diamonds of exquisite quality.

I love the concept as each single piece has a specific meaning sublimated by excellent manufacturing and savoir faire.

Donatella Zappieri:

Serendipity Jewelry showed a wonderful collection of precious gems. Look at this ring and tell me how amazing it is!

Expo 2020 Dubai is an exhibition with a long history. The first World’s Fair was held in 1851 in London, and since then, every such event has been dedicated to finding solutions to humanity’s current problems. In addition, the events serve as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and for the organization of international cooperation in various fields.

Expo 2020 Dubai is, for many reasons, one of the most important in the history of world expositions. Not only because this event will be held for the first time in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region, but also because it is the first event of such grand scale and significance for the whole world to be held since the beginning of the pandemic. In July 2020. Dubai was one of the first to open its borders to tourists. To ensure the well-being of residents and visitors from other countries, the emirate authorities have implemented stringent security protocols. Best of the Best

Expo 2020 Dubai will last for 182 days. The event features a rich cultural and entertainment program.

Each of the 190 participating countries will present its own pavilion. The internal expositions will focus on the history and achievements of these countries in recent years. For example, the pavilion of the UAE, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, resembles the wings of a falcon – the national symbol of the country.

The design of the Swedish pavilion harmoniously combines the aesthetics of a Scandinavian forest and Arabic geometric shapes. The Australian pavilion tells and shows fascinating stories of life in the “country in reverse. In the Poland pavilion flocks of interactive migratory birds fly over the heads of visitors. These are just a small part of the attractions waiting for visitors to Expo2020!

Find out more about each exhibiting country’s pavilion on the official Expo 2020 website.

Where to eat at Expo 2020 Dubai

Expo 2020 Dubai will be an unprecedented national food festival. There will be more than 200 restaurants on the exhibition grounds. Visitors will be offered a wide variety of dishes for every taste from street food to gastronomic delights of famous chefs.

African cuisine at the exhibition is supervised by restaurateur Alexander Smalls. At his food hall “Alkebulan” you can taste dishes from all over Africa, including street food of West Africa, spicy meat from Zanzibar and Kenya, and Tunisian chicken marinated in spice mixture “baharat”.

At the pavilion of each participating country national dishes and drinks will be presented – from Swiss chocolate to freshly made Belgian waffles.

Visitors to the show will be able to visit some of the world’s best restaurants, including Baron Restaurant in Beirut and Bread Ahead Bakery in London. Chef Matthew Kenney will surprise visitors with masterpieces of vegetarian cuisine at the Veg’d Café in the Sustainability Pavilion, and at the Talabat restaurant robots will manage the kitchen and serve guests.

The most interesting entertainment and events

Expo 2020 Dubai has a full cultural and entertainment program. About 60 events will be held daily on the territory of the complex. The main place for the ceremonies will be Al Wasl Plaza with a huge panoramic screen, which will show light and music projections every evening.

Also on the program are street performances, theater for the whole family, gala concerts, and more. We recommend reading the calendar of events in advance so you won’t miss the most interesting ones.

Expo for Kids

In the “Sustainable Development” pavilion (Terra) there is a playground with a waterfall and rides. Young guests will be able to walk under the trees and learn a lot about the root system of the forest, to play a game of pinball, where the future of our planet is at stake, and to meet the Gnacher – a giant sharp-toothed “fish”, which represents endless consumption.

Al Wasl Plaza will host the “Secrets of Salama” show, featuring the exhibition’s mascots, Rashid and Latifah. Al Forsan Park will host an interactive show, “Latifa’s Adventure in Space City,” during which children can jump on a trampoline in “zero gravity” and see a mock-up of the Arab space probe “Hope.”
